Knee Pain
Knee pain is one of the most common complaints treated by Body Rebalnce Clinic. Pain on the weight bearing joints such as the ankle knee and hip can make it nearly impossible to carry out your daily routine functions. Many men and women often associate knee or hip pain with age and a degenerative condition. In most cases this isn’t the true reason. Knee pain can be a result of sporting injuries, traumatic incidents, overuse, or maybe the real cause coming from the ankle or hip area. Not all knee pain conditions are related to exercise sometimes knee pain complaints may have a degenerative component to them, or simply be lifestyle related. At Body Rebalance Clinic we also rehab and treat patients both non- surgical and post- surgery – and if required working in consultation with orthopaedic surgeons.
Common causes of knee pain include;
- ACL-Anterior Cruciate Ligaments
- PCL-Posterior Cruciate Ligaments
- LCL-Lateral Cruciate Ligaments
- MCL-Medial Cruciate Ligaments
- Meniscal Tear
- Dislocated knee cap (Patella)
- Patella tendinopathy
- Iliotibial Band Syndrome
- Patellofemoral Malalignment
- Chondromalacia Patella
- Bursitis
Knee pain is often caused by a number of mechanisms; direct impact, the application of a force that is greater than the body part can withstand, repetitive stress, abnormal biomechanics poor nutrition intake and also degenerative conditions.
